Our next session will be on Saturday 2nd July in the grounds of Crowcombe Court on the Quantock Hills, where we have been invited to take part in an archaeological excavation to try and find a lost medieval manor house!
We will be meeting at Crowcombe Village Hall car park (postcode TA4 4AQ) at 10am and will finish at 2.30pm.
We will be digging, washing finds, looking at old maps and plans, plus other activities.
The excavation is being carried out by Context One Archaeological Services and there is some info about the dig on their website:
https://www.contextone.co.uk/
Please bring:
Drinks, snacks and a packed lunch
Sturdy footwear
Sun hat and sun cream and/or waterproof clothing depending on the weather
It will still be hay fever season so don’t forget your antihistamines if you are a sufferer.
